How it works

From booking to paperwork

  1. 1

    Tell us the quantity

A rough count of tubes and fittings is enough. Tell us about any broken lamps.

  2. 2

    Keep them whole

Store tubes intact, ideally in their boxes or a tube bin, until we collect.

  3. 3

    Specialist treatment

Lamps are processed in a sealed system that captures the mercury and recovers glass and metal.

  4. 4

    Paperwork

You receive a Hazardous Waste Consignment Note for the lamps.

Staying compliant

The rules, handled for you

  • Fluorescent and discharge lamps contain mercury and are classed as hazardous waste.
  • Lamps should be kept whole and must not be crushed on site without the right permit.
  • Hazardous waste must travel with a consignment note to a permitted facility.

Questions

Tubes & lighting FAQs

Do you take broken tubes?

Yes, but they must be bagged and kept separate. Tell us when you book.

Do you work with electrical contractors?

Yes. Contractors often book us to clear tubes and fittings after an LED upgrade.

Do LED lamps count as hazardous?

LED lamps are not usually hazardous but are still WEEE and must be recycled, so we take them too.
